A high-quality chamomile is powerful and potent whilst being gentle, and therefore, is suitable for most people. It is naturally caffeine-free and can be used during pregnancy (in moderation), while breastfeeding, for babies (let infuse only for a couple of minutes) and children. You will find it in most Panakaya blends because it is so diverse.
Our chamomile at Panakaya is of premium grade and has nothing to do with the chamomile you can get in a supermarket! You will note that the flavour is very different and a lot more intense than the supermarket version too. So is the colour! The taste is flowery and distinct. The scent alone may be enough to calm your nerves… Don’t like chamomile? Try this one! You may be surprised…
Ingredients: Chamomile 20g
Directions: Use 1 tsp / cup. Let infuse 10-15 min.
Chamomile can be enjoyed by itself, but also blends well with lemon balm and /or with lavender. Both lemon balm and lavender have been used for centuries to calm the nerves.
Inflammation in mouth or throat: Gargle with a thick tea or sip slowly. For a soar throat you may also want to add a tsp of honey. Remember to only add the honey after the tea has cooled down to not destroy the properties of the honey…
Irritated skin: Make a thick tea and pour luke-warm tea onto a clean tea towel to make a compress with the tea or just wash the skin with luke-warm tea. Remember to let irritated skin get some air and avoid conventional skin or cleaning products.
Sitzbath: May help to speed up post-natal healing of the perineum.
If not otherwise prescribed don’t consume more than the recommended dose. Don’t use if you are allergic or sensitive against any of the ingredients. Keep out of the reach of children. Store in a cool and dry place. This tea is not supposed to treat, cure, prevent or diagnose any disease. For any persistent complaints or conditions that do not improve significantly within 3 days, please consult your physician.
In order to fully benefit from a plant’s powerful properties, you need to go for quality. The herbs we use at Panakaya are sourced in Germany and of pharmacopoeial quality, meaning they follow the strict guidelines and quality standards of the German and European Pharmacopoeia. This means every single batch has been tested for its efficacy and residue of any pesticides, herbicides etc. Therefore, the potency of the herbs cannot be compared to your average tea you get at the supermarket.
