Couples

I also work with couples who are currently going through a rough time in their partnership and would like to change that. The sessions are individual sessions, i.e. not conventional couple therapy where both of you come together. Experience has shown, that most couples prefer to have sessions one after the other. This allows you to go through the experience together and you can discuss with each other what came up. The sessions remain confidential which means I will not share anything with your partner.
My type of treatment works mainly through releasing unresolved emotions and trauma from the body where they have often been stored for a long time. Intuition is key for me in helping you figure out what is the real reason why things are not going well. It may also give you clues what are the things you may want to consider to change your situation.

The advantage is that we can chat as much or little as you like. We can also just let me body “talk” and help it let go of these old emotions. When one person gets better or change within a couple, the other person has the opportunity to grow along with them. It’s an opportunity to grow together and, through the sessions, change the filter through which you see the world and your relationship. Things that may have been an issue may dissolve and other things might become really clear to you.

The sessions work particularly well if you are affected by chronic or emotional stress which make you feel that you are at your limit and need to let go of some “steam”. The sessions may help your nervous system calm down and feel more grounded and connected with yourself. Once your own needs and wants become clearer, you will then be able to communicate them much easier with your partner. Much of this works on a subconscious level and can complement conventional therapy where you tend to talk more from a psychological view point.

Typical situations I support couples with include:

  • Communication
  • Adjusting after the birth of a child
  • Traumatic birth
  • Loss of a loved one
  • Chronic illness
